In October 2009, then-National Vice President Xi Jinping visited Hungary during his visit to Hungary.

Hungary and Chinese Language School is located on the bank of the romantic Danube. It is the first public full-time school in Central and Eastern Europe to teach Chinese and its language. This year marks the 20th anniversary of its establishment.

Komiks When the school was founded, most of the students came from Chinese families who worked and lived in Hungary. Today, the school has expanded to 12 grades and 20 classes, with more than 500 students in school, and most of them are Hungarian-speaking students. Students not only have Chinese classes, but also teach Chinese classes in painting, music and computer classes.

On the eve of the 2023 Spring Festival, Hu Lingyue and Song Zhixiao, students of Hungary and Chinese Bilingual School, wrote a letter to President Xi Jinping and his wife, Professor Peng Liyuan, on behalf of all the students, wishing New Year greetings in accordance with Chinese customs, telling about their feelings of studying Chinese for 12 years in school, and expressing their desire to come to China to go to university and contribute to Hungary and Chinese friendship. In his reply letter, President Xi Jinping encouraged Hungarian young people to learn more about China and be the messenger of the good cause of inheriting and developing Hungarian friends. Currently they are studying in the Chinese major in ChineseBabaylan. Their dream is to become teachers after they finish their studies, “telling Chinese stories and culture to Hungarian students”, and “being a warm messenger of the cause of friendship between Hungary and China.”
In recent years, Hungarians have been interested in learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture.
