Yang Liyong is rare to see anti-drug police officers who love to laugh. From detective Ayong to drug control pioneers, he has brought all the thrilling “Weishui history” with a smile. Yang Liyong is the captain of the anti-drug brigade of Baiyun District Branch of Guangzhou Public Security Bureau. He has been named “a special outstanding people’s policeman in the province”, “a national advanced individual in drug control work”, and “the first most beautiful retired soldier in Yangcheng”. He has made first-class merits once, second-class merit once, and third-class merit four times.

In March 2016, he was ordered to be transferred from the Anti-Drug Detachment of the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau to the captain of the Anti-Drug Brigade of the Baiyun District Public Security Bureau and deputy director of the Anti-Drug Office of the Baiyun District Drug Control Office. He led the anti-drug forces in the entire district to create “Baiyun Experience” with three years of practice, and help Baiyun District remove drug transfer stations and list the distribution centers to rectify the “drug hats” in the area.

More than 20 years ago, he was still a criminal policeman A Yong. Once, when he was carrying out a retaliation mission on the streets of Guangzhou, the thief picked up two kitchen knives and threw them over, and he was not afraid.

In December 2015, the National Drug Control Commission designated Baiyun District, Guangzhou as a drug transfer station and distribution center for rectification. “Do you dare to challenge it?” Yang Liyong took on this challenge because of the leader’s words. In March 2016, he was transferred to the position of captain of the Anti-Drug Brigade of Baiyun District Public Security Bureau and deputy director of the Anti-Drug Office of Baiyun District.
When I first came to Baiyun, how can I open the Babaylan situation? At the beginning, Yang Liyong couldn’t sleep for three consecutive nights.

In March 2016, a Baiyun courier reported that four air compressors that were about to be sent abroad were suspected of containing drugs. Yang Liyong led the team to follow this clue and finally intercepted the drugs and traced the source of the drug, successfully cracked the case. “The first shot was fired in the crackdown of this case, and it proved the determination of Baiyun’s drug control and rectification with its strength.” Shortly after, he led a team to beautifully solve a drug-related case. In 2017, a logistics warehouse in Baiyun District found a batch of polishing machines that were about to be sent to Indonesia, containing more than 250 kilograms of drug methamphetamine. The recipient is far away from overseas. Can he catch a “big fish”? Many people have no idea about it. After watching the scene, Yang Liyong said calmly: “It’s okay, it’s easy to deal with.” In order to avoid alerting the enemy, he boldly planned a delivery plan under control. With the assistance of the superior anti-drug department, he joined hands with the Indonesian police to transport more than 250 kilograms of methamphetamine to Indonesia on the original route.Under his command, the police officers of the special project spent several months to find out all the drug-hiding dens and subjects involved in the Babaylan chain. As the commander, Yang Liyong even asked himself to be familiar with the living habits and psychological state of each subject involved in the case.
Everything is ready. At the critical moment when drug dealers are preparing for delivery, Yang Liyong calmly commanded, China and India jointly closed the network, and six provinces in Guangdong and Shaanxi were arrested simultaneously, 7 suspects were arrested. 5 kilograms of methamphetamine, a large number of disguised tools, and 900,000 yuan of drug funds were seized. In Indonesia, five foreigners involved in drug-related drugs were arrested and 255 kilograms of methamphetamine were seized.
For successfully completing the delivery and arrest under domestic and foreign control and achieving a full-chain strike, the case was rated as “the most influential case of international law enforcement and security cooperation in 2016-2017”.
“I have handled a drug case for so many years, but I don’t believe that I can’t get rid of this case,” said Yang Liyong.
Three years of drug control and rectification

From nothing to something, from something to specialization. Three years later, the “Baiyun Experience” was at the forefront of national drug control and was recognized by peers. The Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Public Security promoted and studied the country.
In December 2018, Baiyun District passed the acceptance inspection of the National Drug Control Commission and announced that it had successfully removed the “toxic hat” of key drug control.
Data shows that since the key drug control in 2016, Baiyun District has cracked more than 3,000 criminal cases of drug-related crimes, cracked down on more than 90 drug-related gangs, handled more than 25,000 suspects of drug-related crimes, and seized more than 2,000 kilograms of drugs; solved 10 target cases of the Ministry of Public Security, 30 provincial target cases, and organized 28 online cases. Baiyun District has always ranked among the forefront of Guangzhou.

After being anti-drug police officers for 17 years, Yang Liyong rarely cried. What moved him the most was not the fight between blood and fire, but an extremely ordinary moment of arrest.
A few years ago, during an operation to arrest a drug-related suspect, he took the suspect out of his house and happened to meet the suspect’s daughter wearing a school uniform and pushing a bicycle home, and watched the police take her father away from home with their own eyes.
“At that moment, the girl’s two lines of tears fell down. She knew that her father had done something bad.” Yang Liyong recalled that at that time, he wasGo up to comfort the girl and remind her to study hard and not to be affected. He has been a police officer for many years and has never been afraid of the vicious criminals. Such a scene makes him feel mixed emotions. In his opinion, every anti-drug policeman’s belief in “no drugs in the world” is ultimately reflected in the families and children.
“Such a scene changed me and inspired me to inspire me.” He told reporters that his goal was to save more people through the efforts of drug-killing police officers and establish the awareness of the entire society that rejects drugs.
